The Troopergate problem
This ABC news report from Brian Ross is pretty devastating. There’s a clip from Palin at a news conference where she seems to be, um, dissembling to say the least. And this issue isn’t just an allegation that’s popped up since McCain nominated Palin for veep. It’s been brewing for a while. A report is scheduled to be released—at the end of October. Ross all but claims at the end that the McCain campaign is behind efforts to get the report delayed until after the election.

I think this is probably a loser for you guys.
Unless a smoking gun turns up, this isn't enough.
Even the guy who was fired didn't offer any proof. He just thinks the situation with her ex-brother inlaw had something to do with his firing.
I'm not saying more stuff couldn't come up, but this news report doesn't make the case.
And you do believe in innocent until proven guilty right?
I, myself, certainly wouldn't want to live in a world where allegations = evidence.
Seems you're jumping the gun, elliot. It's an investigation, not the final analysis.
And you do believe in innocent until proven guilty right?
Of course. What's your point? Are you suggesting the investigation should be dumped? There seem to be questions that need answering -- and there's a hell of a lot more info than the birth certificate fiasco your side made up.
"Are you suggesting the investigation should be dumped?"
Not at all!
If she did something wrong, hang her.
But...to me, this looks like the sort of political maneuvering you see between various parts of a state government. Remember Georgia Thompson? Just cause something can be made to look bad, doesn't mean it is bad. ;)
Elliot, would you have the same reaction if the charge had been made about Doyle?
In any event, my guess is it comes up in the debate. The campaign needs to find a way for her to discuss it.
