The always-observant Recess Supervisory notices a gem in Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s most recent campaign ad:
Scott Walker recently cut a new ad on property taxes…that would actually be effective, if the guy who wrote the script didn't botch the whole ad by having Walker use the phrase "... if I have the honor of being your County Executive for the next few years.
"Uh, hey ad man. That's terrible wording, and only calls attention to what everyone already knows - Walker will ditch this gig for the first chance at higher office that pops up.
You can watch the ad here:
As good as watching Walker fail to state declaratively that he will serve for a complete four-year term, my favorite part of the ad is when the camera pans back to reveal a shot of Walker standing in front of…the Miller Brewing facility.
Now, let’s consider this for just a moment.
Scott Walker has been serving as Milwaukee County Executive since 2002.
In fact, he’s now running for his third term.
He has demonstrably less hair now than he did when he was just a lowly, unaccomplished state representative.
Now, as the incumbent doesn’t Walker have to share some of the blame for the development that one of the county’s largest employers might not see Milwaukee as a good place to have its headquarters following a merger?
Let’s consider, for just a moment, if David Riemer had been elected to the post of county executive four years ago. Does anyone doubt that Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling would be red with indignation about the situation with Miller—and loudly blaming Riemer?
Yet nary a word of criticism has been directed at Walker for the Miller situation by Belling, Sykes, or Walker’s various enablers in the right-wing blogosphere.
Now, I doubt there is very little Scott Walker—or any elected official—can actually do about what Miller decides. If the company’s executives want to go, they will.
But that fact doesn’t mean Walker should be allowed to claim he might have any greater ability to keep Miller in town than his challenger Lena Taylor does.
Of course, facts don’t matter much to Walker. This is a guy who, after all said he wouldn't run for election in 2008 anyway.

He should do a new edit of this with him in front of the USBC. We all know the ONLY person to blame for that was Mayor Tom -- http://badgerblogger.com/?p=6692
I'd like to see an ad where Walker brags about cutting taxes by eliminating guards from the House of Corrections and putting the prisoners on the honor system.
This has to be the longest honeymoon in the history of politics. Is the JS really so terrified of being called liberal by Belling and Sykes that they will never hold Walker accountable for anything?
