Whallah is posing a question: What's up with State Senator Mary Lazich's aide Kevin Fischer?

Seriously, check out the comments Fischer left at a Franklin Now Blog, particularly this one:

Note to Greg Kowalski's sisters:

If you know what's good for you, don't let big brother help you with spelling or English grammar.

Who’s Greg Kowalski? Both Kowalski and Fischer have blogs at the Franklin Now site, which is owned by Journal Communications, and which, as far as I can tell from Fischer’s blog, is a veritable snake pit.

What’s notable is that the sniping isn’t between Fischer and his readers—it’s between Fischer and Kowalski and another Franklin Now blogger, whose blog is called “Unglued.”

Keep in mind that Fischer, when he’s not blogging, is apparently a real grown up with a real job serving as a Lazich advisor and aide. He’s one of Mark Belling’s fill-ins at WISN and a regular panelist on Milwaukee Public Television’s Interchange Program.

And while it may be true that Fischer and Kowalski don’t care for one another’s views, it also appears that Kowalski is one of Lazich’s constituents. Regardless of the partisanship issues here, it is really in Lazich’s interests to have her aide engaged in a long-running online spat with a voter?

As a legislator, Lazich is fairly clueless (see, for example, Jim Rowen), but as a politician she must have some concern that Fischer’s childish antics might backfire in the next election.

In any event, I doubt we’ll be hearing moaning about a lack of civility in our public and political discourse from either Fischer or Lazich anytime soon.
