The grand Pooh-Bahs at the Americans for Prosperity Foundation have identified Wisconsin as fertile soil for their anti-progress message, so they have issued an edict that a grand forum shall be held on February 9, 2008. The Foundation’s adoring acolytes, including Fred at Real Debate Wisconsin, are thrilled.
Attending luminaries include:
J.B. Van Hollen, who will deliver an apologia. (All rotten vegetables will be confiscated at the door.)
Mike Gableman, who will promise not to just represent business interests, but the family members of those interests as well.
Sherriff David Clarke, who will explain how he came to be Mayor of Milwaukee’s suburbs. (Also, it was getting embarrassing not having any African Americans at these events.)
Scott Walker, who will explain how to destroy local parks and transit systems.
Steve Moore of the Wall Street Journal, Vicki McKenna of WISN Radio, Patrick McIlheran of the Journal Sentinel, who will discuss (giggle, smirk, hah-hah) the “left wing media.” (Smirk, giggle.)
Oh, yeah—some bloggers. Why not? They should get some credit for linking to the news releases.
I am sure a good time will be had by all. Here’s hoping the rest of us don’t get had by these guys. Have fun.

Michael, Michael, Michael. A good time will be had by all - no need for such animosity! It's a great bunch of folks - why don't you join the gathering for an hour or two (?)(probably all you could stand) just to be able to report how normal - and sincere - the attendees are.

If you consider these attendees to be normal and sincere, I can recommend some very good psychiatrists. This will have more clowns that the Ringling Bros. museum.
I'm sure it will be fun. I'm just wondering where's the balance?
As to your invitation to attend, I'm reminded of the scene from a Christmas Carol where one of Scrooge's associates from the exchange pledges to attend his funeral but only if lunch is served.
