I suppose if I’d known Mr. Outrage was going to be at today’s poorly attended Americans for Prosperity Rally in Madison today, I might have made an effort to attend the larger counter rally that was organized by people that have to work for a living and who also pay taxes.
Brian Fraley has photos, including one which, and I’m sure this was unintentional on his part, communicates what most Wisconsinites are thinking about this mess: Do your job. (Has it occurred to anyone else that Fraley’s own job these days seems to be trying to make potential clients forget he was the one that got J.B. Van Hollen elected.)
Of the commentary I’ve read, I would recommend Grumps’ take on this Vicki McKenna quote: “We're paying to be here, and we're paying for them to be here, too. That'smessed up. The least you (public employees) could do is say, 'Thank you.'"
Grumps says:
She apparently doesn't appreciate that State employees pay the same taxes as any other working woman or man. In McKenna's insulated cocoon she seems incredulous that those wages might be treated in the same way as any other.
She believes that the garbagemen and prison guards should be grateful for her largess. McKenna would like a little "Thank You" note from the boys at the firehouse when they come back from a run or just a little gratitude from the plow jockey who's lucky enough to plow her street at 4 AM.
You betcha the state employees were rude to the squawkers on The Square. How would anyone react when faced with busybodies coming in to mess around with their paycheck? How would Owen deal with someone sitting on his desk and shouting that he's overpaid? Would Fred brook for just one moment amplified bitching about the job he does?
There’s more here.

Grumps should get a new hearing aid.
NO AFP speaker said that State/local employees were "overpaid".
It was noted that those State/local employees were apparently taking time off (paid??) from their jobs.
And some of the firemen were wearing their equipment. Are the overcoats and helmets their PERSONAL property? Or did they just "borrow" municipal equipment for the morning?
Somebody told them Reince Priebus was on fire.
I thought it was Fred Dooley. He was apparently pretty hot under the collar.
