Speaking of people who can spell US Attorney Steve Biskupic’s name correctly, Daniel Bice has been trying to track down just who it was in state GOP circles that was trashing Biskupic enough to the White House in 2004 and 2005 to earn Wisconsin a mention as a place where voter fraud isn’t taken seriously—at least according to spokespeople Dana Perino and Dan Bartlett as they tried to defend Alberto Gonzalez a few weeks ago. (Gonzalez probably looks back on those days with a certain fondness.)
Bice has learned that is was the former executive director of the Republican Party, Rick Wiley, who directed that a report be prepared detailing the Party’s concerns about voter fraud in Wisconsin, and that the report be forwarded to the White House’s top legal eagle…Karl Rove.
Why Rove? Well, you can draw your own conclusions, but allegations of voter fraud in Wisconsin have always been more about dirty politics than actual legal infractions.
In fact, you might describe evidence of actual voter fraud that matters in Wisconsin as “beyond thin.”
And while it would have been nice to see a little, ahem, credit for certain bloggers who were asking some of the same questions posed in Bice’s columns, we should all appreciate the fact that he uncovered the happy news that former Republican PR person Chris Lato has been promoted to corporate and is now working as a cub reporter at 620-WTMJ. Congratulations, Chris!
Given WTMJ’s reputation for honesty, integrity, and all things Marconi, Lato probably has the voter fraud assignment.

You've got to wonder . . . why didn't the MJS put Bice's column on page 1 instead of burying it - after all, they ran screaming front page headlines in story after story about the alleged vote fraud (which, of course, was found not to exist).
